Tautaku Hut | Catlins Conservation Park
Okay, it’s a bit of a garden shed, but it’s had a few modifications to improve the austerity. It’s been lined on the interior and has more recently had a large and useful porch built that adds plenty of room. The large east-facing windows and a clear skylight enhance the interior light.
It’s maintained by Permolat Southland.
It’s a lovely mature rata forest on the easy walk in, and birds abound now that trapping and 1080 are doing their thing.
