Dynamo Red Hut | Mount Aurum Recreation Reserve

Dynamo Red Hut appears to have been built in the Depression era from a mix of beech saplings and 3 × 2“ timber, and the poor construction is really starting to show. The corrugated steel roofing and walls don’t have solid timber to nail into, and the flooring is starting to rot.

Lived in and looked after by a miner until recently, and has loads of character.

A smaller separate hut has an old switchboard and lights, so it must have been in use before the dynamo at Dynamo Hut across the river was decommissioned in 1907.
