Macetown campsite | Macetown Historic Reserve, Motatapu Track
The Macetown campsite is an official DOC campsite adjacent to the Arrow River near Arrowtown, on Te Araroa.
Not many facilities here and a long way to get water from the Arrow River but it is a pleasant spot to put up a tent under the leafy trees.
Not much remains from the old gold mining settlement, just some piles of stones from fireplaces, and fences, although the remaining two old stone buildings have been restored.
