McIntosh Hut | Whakaari Conservation Area

Another old mining hut near the top of Mt McIntosh. There is plenty of climbing involved for a day visit.

The hut is very roomy, except for the head height, which is minimal.

The view is magnificent if the weather permits, with Mt Earnslaw, the Dart River, the top of Lake Wakatipu, and the full Humboldt Mountains on display.
