Lake Howden Hut | Routeburn Track, Fiordland National Park
Lake Howden Hut has a lovely location on the outlet of a small creek from Lake Howden, at the junction of the Routeburn and Greenstone Tracks. Split level with bunks upstairs and decent living area downstairs.
Not so much used as the bigger huts due to the proximity to The Divide, ie, end of the Routeburn for many.

booking . . . required for summer season, 29 October 2019 – 30 April 2020, either online or at a DOC office. Not required for winter season: to 28 October 2018.
camping . . . not permitted, nearest campsite is Greenstone Saddle, 20 minutes along Greenstone Track.

heating . . . firebox, firewood supplied from woodshed
water . . . summer: tap above inside sinks. Winter: outside water tank or if frozen up, from the creek
