Greta Lodge | Ruataniwha Conservation Park, Canterbury

Greta Lodge has a great location overlooking Lake Ōhau, Ōhau Ski Field, and the Barrier Range. It was built for workers constructing the road around Ben Ohau during the 1930s Depression.

It’s basic, but decent enough shelter.

The Mackenzie District Council has leased the lodge to the North Otago Branch of the New Zealand Deerstalkers’ Association (NZDA), who will maintain it.
