Eric's Bivvy | Hakatere Conservation Park
Not many stay at this old hut that was built from the remnants of an older hut further down the valley in 1937.
Built primarily as an emergency shelter for when the rivers are up, when it’s not possible to cross.
Fairly minimal amenities, windows or mattresses are omitted, but it does have a roof.
The barrel filled with stagnant water looks dodgy and is a long trudge down to a flowing stream.
