Spurs Hut | Te Kahui Kaupeka Conservation Park
The sign on the door states 1896, but all that remains from that period is the stacked stone chimney.
The interior is a bit cramped and dark for the four bunks.
It’s a damp stroll in, with much of the way swampy, but at least it’s reasonably level. A few pedal in on their mountain bike, but that would have its moments with the track conditions.
Note that the only wood is from distant willow trees, which is poor burning.
