The weather hadn’t changed much during the night, and my intent for a day trip was thwarted.
Drops of rain patterned the extensive glazing, and encouraged me to write a few blogs for another of my websites. For a time, the rain came down very heavily.
By mid-afternoon, it cleared, and I went for a brief walk to check out some more of the silver beech forest on the other side of the river.
When I made it back to Jubilee Hut, others started to arrive. Where I’d been the fourth person to book for the night, there was now going to be nine of us. Just one spare mattress.
Two university students from the United States of America, two hunters, and a couple with their two preteen children. Quite a different mood from my nights on my own. The first time I’d shared a hut with so many others since forever.
