A very thick fog on the water first thing, but at exactly the allotted time, 9 am, the water taxi emerged from the dense whiteness for my trip back to the civilisation that Oban and the South Sea Hotel offer.

I could make use of the flat asphalted road and track around to Ackers Point to accumulate my daily steps.

Two days in Oban were a pleasant transition from the solitude of Fred’s Camp to getting back on the mainland and starting on a slow trip north.

No one travels slower than me.
