Wildman Hut | Mt Arrowsmith Station

Wildman Hut is just outside the Hakatere Conservation Park boundary but is available for public use, courtesy of Mt Arrowsmith Station.

It’s one of the few huts with a wet back on the woodfired oven, producing plenty of hot water for endless cups of tea to go with the freshly baked scones. It also has a shower at some distance from the hut.

The picnic table offers a great spot for lunch on the way up to Top Hut and for contemplating the hills to the west.
