Rod Donald Hut | Te Ara Pātaka Walkway

This hut was built as a private bach in the early 1990s, but it was acquired by the Rod Donald Trust in 2014 in memory of a Green Party leader who unexpectedly passed away. The trust converted the two-level structure into a DOC-style hut in 2015.

Excellent views down to Little River towards Lake Forsyth, despite being a fair way down from the top of the ridge.
