Hurunui Hut No 3 | Lake Sumner Forest Park
Hurunui Hut No 3, huh?
Not sure where hut No 1 and No 2 have gone, but No 4 is now called Locke Stream, and all were constructed in 1939 as a tourist venture to rival the Milford Track. No. 3 has been refurbished; it’s kinda built in the old-schoolhouse style with 3-level bunks.
Yup, character+, one of the more memorable huts you will encounter, at least architecture-wise.
