Wharfedale Hut, Oxford Forest Conservation Area
Oxford is less than an hour’s drive from Christchurch, so this hut has a high number of visits, although most are from day walkers and mountain bikers.
It’s an enclosed hut with high windows and no view when seated. But with proximity to the city, and its lovely location in a clearing in beech forest, that makes it a great place to take youngsters for their first night in a hut.
