Cold Stream Hut | Lake Sumner Forest Park

One hour off the Jollie Brook track, what could go wrong?

Well, the track can be completely overgrown with waist-high tutu, so there is that. There is a very good track, mostly, under the tutu. Maybe rather than relying on DOC, users should help by smashing the tutu down as they go.

A good few stream crossings are required: cold in winter, tepid in summer.

It’s a standard NZFS SF 70 bunk hut that has recently been renovated. At the time of visiting, it had a major rodent issue. Earplugs were useful.
