Black Hill Hut, Oxford Forest Conservation Area

Close to Christchurch, and you can walk there in a day. Just a continual grind to get up to 1200 m. Worth the effort with a neatly tidied-up hut in a small clearing.

Continue on another 15 minutes for the full grandeur and panorama of Mt Oxford, the Canterbury Plains, and the full view back from whence you have come.
