Lochinvar Hut | Lochinvar Forest Conservation Area

Lochinvar Hut is a standard New Zealand Forest Service SF 70 6 bunk hut, of which there are around 185 in existence.

This one has had limited use and is therefore in great condition. Thanks also to volunteers from a Backcountry Trust renovation in 2016, which saw it reroofed and repainted, with a new stainless steel bench installed, along with a new toilet and woodshed. The original open fire was replaced with a small wood burner.

Best to access via McArthur Gorge to the north, as Mt White station apparently charges for access via the 4WD track.
