Woolshed Creek Hut | Hakatere Conservation Park
Woolshed Creek Hut is one of the most popular huts in Canterbury due to its proximity to Christchurch and the two or so hours of hiking time from the car park. It clearly needs the booking system and hut warden to regulate overcrowding.
It’s a 20-year-old replacement of an earlier hut, you will have the experience of sleeping with a bunch of strangers. As an alternative, there are some good campsites on the other side of the stream.
There are a few scenic spots in the vicinity, such as the swing bridge, that will excite youngsters on their first hike.
