Waitutu Hut | Fiordland National Park

Similar configuration to Wairaurahiri Hut. Back in the 70s, they must have had a Build-It-and-People-Will-Come mentality. I don’t think they are, in fact, coming.

The first half of the track from Wairaurahiri Hut is the boggiest of the entire South Coast Track. It gets better, ie, less boggy, west of Angus Burn.

It is closer to the beach than Wairaurahiri Hut, and it is easier to find firewood.
