AA Hut | Kopuwai Conservation Area

Supposedly built to provide shelter to miners heading to the Potter’s goldfield, which is not so far away, but the construction materials, concrete slab and milled rimu, look more like the 1930s—1960s.

Now has no facilities, other than a couch inside. Does have an open fire, but there is no wood anywhere nearby, so bring your own. Also, no close-by water supply, so you would have to climb down to the creek some distance to the north.
