Cromel Branch Hut | Eyre Mountain/ Taka Rā Haka Conservation Park

Cromel Branch Hut is a similar S 81 design to Islands Hut, with four mattresses in bunks. It sits on the edge of a large, swampy clearing, and while it’s close to a steep hillside, it’s orientated to catch some afternoon sun. Plenty of dead standing timber around for use in the open fire.

With the large clearing, it’s probably the most suitable accommodation for hunters, but like most of the huts in the Eyre Mountains, it is little used.

The hut is in reasonable condition and is at the crossroads of tracks to Cromel Base Hut, Upper Cromel Hut, and Irthing Hut.
