Irthing Hut | Eyre Mountain/ Taka Rā Haka Conservation Park

Irthing Hut is a recently renovated hut on the edge of a large clearing, with both an excellent water source, a small stream, and a toilet close at hand. A woodshed was also built, and there is plenty of dead standing timber in the area for heating via the open fire.

It’s relatively easy to get to, as the four-wheel-drive track to Mt Bee Bunkhouses Hut continues along the relatively flat and rounded ridge for the majority of the distance, before you drop down into the forest and pretty quickly get to the hut from there.
