Monowai Campsite, Fiordland National Park

Monowai Campsite has a few camping sites scattered under the mature Southland beech trees, and close to Lake Monowai. Picnic tables and fireplaces are useful, but the sites themselves are not particularly level and that’s not so good for tents.

A few you can drive to, but trampers can wander past a car-proof barrier and find a reasonable site. Note: the two toilets are down by the boat ramp, ie, 100 m away, and we know what that means.
