I swapped my physio, obviously.
The new guy was excellent. A great communicator and exuded positivity.
The cast didn’t last long, nine days, due to the late start.
But I needed the cast cut off before I left for Wellington and Christmas with my family. That was achieved 24 hours before departure.

The Moonboot was liberation. You can rest your foot on the ground, but still need to use those crutches for movement. It’s only partial weight-bearing.
By the time I left Wellington after 10 days, I was able to ditch my crutches and became fully weight-bearing,
The idea is to keep your foot in the dorsal position, pointing down at 30°. The angle was changed every two weeks by removing one of the four wedges in the boot to reduce the angle.
But with the Moonboot you are mobile, and suddenly things are looking up.
