Top Toaroha Hut, Toaroha River

Top Toaroha Hut is another old New Zealand Forest Service six bunker, there were 100s of these built. Once this hut had kerosene heating, but these days, with shooting mostly done from helicopter those stoves have been removed and replaced by a standard wood burner.

Blue ducks/whio have been reported on the nearby lake.
