Top Gordon Hut, Gordon Stream

Top Gordon Hut is a standard New Zealand Forest Service SF 70 six-bunk hut that received a pretty good makeover in 2005, with new bunks and mattresses, stainless benches, and insulation. The windows are only single-glazed, however.

It’s in a sunny location with a reasonable outlook, although aren’t those all conifers up there on the north side of Gordon Stream?

Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, red for youth) for each night of your stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut. A Backcountry Hut Pass is also valid year-round.
