Mid Silverstream Hut | Leatham Conservation Area
Mid Silverstream Hut is perched above Silver Stream in a small clearing. The proximity of the hills to the north would give limited direct light in winter.
The sign at either end of the track states five hours from the four-wheel drive track turnoff, and while some may be faster, with possible windfall, young red beech saplings obscuring the track, plus a new slip, these obstacles may slow others down.
When the benched track is good, it is great.
It would help access if those venturing in snapped off stray twigs rather than expecting this task to be done by the government.
Certainly, more of an effort is required than getting to Top Misery or Lost Stream huts.
