Bottom Gordon Hut, Leatham River
This ex-New Zealand Forest Service hut was extended and upgraded in 1993, although the windows are only single glazed.
It’s in surprisingly good condition, considering that it is possible to drive a four-wheel drive to the front door. Then again it is a big 38 km to State Highway SH 63 in the Wairau Valley.
