She’s decrepit. Wouldn’t want to stay there.

But it is an opportunity to examine a bush-built hut of the type from before the New Zealand Forest Service started to build standardised, designed construction for hunters’ accommodation.

The best thing about this hut is that it is only 10 m from the weathertight, rat proof, insulated new hut.
