Fosters Hut | Wakamarina Track, Mt Richmond Forest Park
Fosters Hut was originally built near Appletree Gully. The hut was moved to a more accessible location on the ridge top. It then became known as Fosters Ridge Camp Hut, or Fosters Hut. That’s what the sign inside states.
The splendid view over the Wairau Valley is slowly being obscured by the growth of trees. Get there quick! You might like it. The hut has a pleasant ambience.

Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, red for youth) for each night of your stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut. A Backcountry Hut Pass is also valid year-round.
