Middy Creek Hut | Mt Richmond Forest Park
For a hut so close to Nelson, on a bank just up from the totally gorgeous Pelorus River, it’s surprising Middy doesn’t get more visitors. Many on Te Araroa march on past up to Rocks Hut.
One of the old-style NZFS SF 70 huts, like the ones in either direction, Captains Creek and Roebuck Hut.

Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, red for youth) for each night of your stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut. A Backcountry Hut Pass is also valid year-round.
