Venus Hut | Kahurangi National Park
Venus Hut is one of the great located huts around, perched in a small clearing just above the Karamea River. You can pop out to have a look at the huge trout languidly oscillating in the clear green water below. On the other side, check out the flock of fantails that make the Venus Stream home and flit around the close-at-hand swingbridge.
Double-glazed, insulation big time, an extensive verandah to sit and just appreciate the surroundings, quite different from the old hut it replaced.

Youth (5–17 years): $7.50 per night
Child/Infant (0–4 years): free
Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, red for youth) for each night of your stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut. A Backcountry Hut Pass is also valid year-round.
