Ellis Hut | Kahurangi National Park
Many climb Mt Arthur on a daywalk from the Flora Saddle carpark, but few turn off before the summit and head down, steeply, to this little oasis with a dramatic backdrop.
An excellent example of a six-bunk NZFS SF 70 hut that has been recently renovated, with a new porch, stainless steel bench, woodburner, toilet, etc.

Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, red for youth) for each night of your stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut. A Backcountry Hut Pass is also valid year-round.
