Chaffey Hut | Kahurangi National Park
Chaffey Hut is a quirky historic hut that was completely rebuilt in 2014. Quirky as in the bush-hewn log cabin structure and the zany 350 mm intentional slope across the floor, and the hut ain’t big. Most of the timber for the hut reconstruction was taken from windfalls in the area.
Yeah, it has buckets of character that ain’t so common in your standard, more modern, DOC hut.
