Port William campsite | Rakiura National Park, Stewart Island

The official Port William campsite has six grassy camping sites, a two-minute walk from the Port William Hut, set in a mostly sheltered spot near the beach.

The shelter provides some, err, shelter from Stewart Island’s often inclement weather with a place to cook — bring your own cooking gear — and short bench seat, no table otherwise. For some reason, the site doesn’t seem too flat, but you’ll find plenty of space for your tent.
