Long Harry Hut | Rakiura National Park, Stewart Island

Long Harry Hut has maybe the most exciting hut location on the island, in a clearing near a clifftop, overlooking the ocean and looking out to Fiordland. A good opportunity to seek out that elusive kiwi. You can hear them in the evening, and often see them in the morning, strolling up the track, or roaming across the clearing.

Not a bad spot to plan a rest day at about the halfway point of the North West Circuit: paua at low tide, fishing at high, or just a lazy old day revelling in the amazing location.
