Christmas Village Hunters Hut | Rakiura National Park, Stewart Island

Christmas Village Hunters Hut is a newer hut similar to many constructed by the Hunters’ Trust. Double-glazed, with decent insulation and a woodburner so cosy enough.

Overlooking Christmas Village Bay beach, so there’s plenty of firewood around. Some distance from the trampers hut.

No village, pub, maidens, Saturday market, or town square I’m sorry to say.

Has all the amenities of the usual DOC hut, with some useful additions abandoned by previous hunting parties, pots and pans, etc.
