Doughboy Hut | Rakiura National Park, Stewart Island

If you want to feel remote and away from civilisation, Doughboy Hut is as good a spot as any, you are down below 47ΒΊ S. There are huts further south in NZ, but only with boat access.

The old Long Harry hut was relocated by the NZ navy using a biggish helicopter, a barge and some settled weather, and renovated in its new location. This is a great spot to have a day off and enjoy the walk on the track around to the point, reckon it’s high on the list of top places in Stewart Island, make that NZ.
