Martins Creek Hunters Hut | Rakiura National Park, Stewart Island

Martins Creek Hunters Hut is not actually a DOC hut, this is a hut built and maintained by a group of hunting enthusiasts, the Rakiura Hunter Camp Trust.

It’s not for use by casual trampers.

It is, however, up to the usual DOC standard and also with plenty of utensils, pots and pans, etc, left by various hunting parties.

It’s set well back from the beach while still in sand dune territory.
