Paske Hut | near Nelson Lakes National Park

The Paske Hut is a standard S70 New Zealand Forest Service Hut from the 1960s in fairly original condition, including an open fireplace with a towering chimney.

Set in a long grassy flat, with summer visits by cattle who pug up the damp landscape, and leave their calling cards.

Handy for those intending to head over, or come from, the excellent, if energy-intensive Paske Saddle to the upper Clarence River Valley.
