Hawdon Hut | Arthurs Pass National Park
Hawdon Hut is popular due to its proximity to Christchurch and being a relatively easy walk from the car park, although some un-bridged river crossings are required. When the hut was recently rebuilt, the new location was carefully selected to give outstanding views over to the nearby mountains.
This is a fully comfortable hut of the type that DOC has recently been building in popular locations: big picture windows, double glazing, enormous bench space, plenty of tables and benches, almost like a home away from home.
