Hawdon Hut | Arthurs Pass National Park
Hawdon Hut is popular due to its proximity to Christchurch and being a relatively easy walk from the car park, although some unbridged river crossings are required. When the hut was recently rebuilt, the new location was carefully selected to give outstanding views of the nearby mountains.
This is a fully comfortable hut of the type that DOC has recently been building in popular locations: big picture windows, double glazing, enormous bench space, plenty of tables and benches, almost like a home away from home.
