Goat Pass Hut | Arthurs Pass National Park
Goat Pass Hut has a great location, one of the more spectacular around. And a reasonable level of amenity, other than a lack of heating.
Note that it ain’t an hour’s roll down the valley to Upper Deception Hut, as the signage states. It’s actually around twice that for those carrying a pack.

Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, red for youth) for each night of your stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut. A Backcountry Hut Pass is also valid year-round.
