Hidden Falls Hut | Hollyford Track, Fiordland National Park
Huts close to road ends tend to attract people who just want to duck into the bush for a night or two. They can get overused, err, and beaten up. People can bring in all types of things usual in civilisation but less common among the more committed trampers: cans, plastic, etc. Rubbish is dumped rather than taken out.
Hidden Falls Hut may escape this to some degree, the Lower Hollyford Road requires some effort even in a vehicle, but having a hut warden in the summer months must help in the cleanliness factor.
Hidden Falls Hut is a newish hut with great views of the impressive Darran mountains, yeah, it’s worth a night, even if you don’t fully walk the Hollyford. Just take your rubbish when you leave.

Fees for camping are paid with hut tickets, a Backcountry Hut Pass, or a Campsite Pass. A Backcountry Hut Pass is valid for camping year-round. Campsites can’t be booked.
Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, red for youth) for each night of your stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut.
Campers may use the hut’s water supply and toilets.
