Lewis Shelter | Heaphy Track
The old Lewis Hut was removed after the adjacent and newly built massive suspension bridge for mountain bikers was washed away. The shelter was built in 2021 to protect trampers in the unlikely event of flooding recurring.
The shelter is not intended for accommodation, unless in an emergency. Good spot for lunch, however.
