Holyoake Clearing Shelter | Inland Track, Abel Tasman National Park
If this is what a DOC shelter means, I am staying in shelters.
Cosy? Sure, but handy for two people coz there’s two mattresses, a small stainless bench, a watertank, no stove and not much excess room. For what you pay, ie, nothing, this also throws in a decent view for free, there’s a lot to like. Okay camping on the flat if you prefer, and you even get a picnic table.
Just remember to keep a window open if cooking inside, avoid that asphyxiation via carbon monoxide poisoning.
