Awapoto Hut | Inland Track, Abel Tasman National Park
The Lockwood nature dates this hut to the early 80s, and it seems, currently, that DOC have not returned; she looks somewhat tired.
On the plus side, it’s comfy enough, has the usual amenities, including bulk firewood from the nearby windfalls, but the view is mostly hinted at through the trees rather than a full-on reveal.
Best feature: maybe the straggly collection of mountain cabbage trees immediately outside; gotta adore them.
