Awapoto Hut | Inland Track, Abel Tasman National Park
The Lockwood nature dates this hut to the late 70s/early 80s and it seems, currently, that DOC have not returned, she looks somewhat tired.
On the plus side it’s comfy enough, has the usual amenity, including bulk firewood from the nearby windfalls but the view is only hinted at through the trees rather than a full on reveal.
Best feature: maybe the straggly collection of mountain cabbage trees immediately outside, gotta adore them.
