Toaroha Saddle Bivvy

The current Toaroha Saddle Bivvy replaces an earlier hut from 1961. This was demolished, and a new bivvy was rebuilt in 1984.

It was designed for hobbits, with a two-thirds-height door, and it is not possible to stand up inside.

You could squeeze three and maybe even four people inside, but Poet and Top Toaroha Huts are not far away if you need less congestion.

For additional information about access and the bivvy, see the Permolat Group remotehuts.co.nz website.
